What's new

It's raining Simpson's!

After Chris's (solar) post mentioning a great Vendor offer on Simpson's brushes I went investigating. Badger and Hone had some terrific deals available and I ordered a couple of small/medium sized brushes in the name of research
Today my parcel arrived and I am so far very impressed with my Duke 2 in Best and my Case in Pure. I haven't yet taken a photo, but they have been washed and swirled vigorously on top of a puck of Tabac and I am still deciding which one to test first tomorrow morning.
Prior to these arrivals, my only Simpson's brush was a Wee Scot. These two will be perfect to fill the size gap between the Wee one and my B+B Eagle (which should be here soooon) and have already shown themselves to be soap-destroyers.
I will endeavour to get a pic or two tomorrow to add to the thread.
Many thanks to Badger and Hone for the great service and the generous offer to B+B members.

The Duke won the nod this morning and was first in action. I took to a puck of T+H Ultimate Comfort Soap with vigour and my new brush performed wonderfully!

A quick snap of the new arrivals (both starting to bloom) with a Wee Scot tossed in for scale.

Congrats, David!:001_smile
The Duke is an amazing performer, isn't it?

David - I'd be really interested to see a comparison shot of the Duke 2 and your T&H 1/2. Do you have any preference now between the two??

I got my Wee Scot yesterday from them and I must say this lil' bugger is amazing!! Face lather with an Arko stick gave me lather for three passes, unbelievable for such a tiny brush. It was actually much smaller than I expected. Just drilled holes in the smallest pill container I could find, perfect travel tube for it.

Good score David, that Case is a great brush. Enjoy the new equipment!

Best,

Chris

Thanks again for the inspiration Chris- yup, the Case is a great little brush and I like the Pure Badger hair, the short loft and really scrubby feel. I will use it for the first time this morning and I'm sure that it will be great! The Case also fits perfectly into a travel tube came with a GFT Travel brush that I bought earlier in the year. :thumbup1:

Good choice! I say it all the time, but the Duke 2 is one of my favorites!

Thanks Hunter. On initial impressions, I can see why it would be one of your favourite brushes- it performed wonderfully yesterday morning and is a great size. The Duke is well on the way to becoming one of my favourites too.

a nice family photo.

Thanks George

Here is another thread with a quick comparison James. No firm favourite yet, but I think that The Duke performs better on soap and maybe the Rooney a little better on cream- still early days.

The WS is a surprise when it comes out of the box Rudy, but it does punch well above it's weight. I bought mine because I wanted a small brush to use during the week when I normally have a one-pass straight shave before dashing off to the office. Obviously I don't need a huge brush full of lather in that case and the WS has been terrific. My 2 new brushes will also see plenty of use during the week as well.

Bought my Simpson's 'Tuplip' T1 from Badger and Hone using that special offer for B&B members.

I can say with all honesty, best brush I own.
