Small Brush Owners Club: SBOC

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Small Brush Owners Club!! This little spot here at B&B is for those that enjoy their small shaving brushes. The currently accepted guideline: Thank you @Rudy Vey is for those brushes that have a maximum knot diameter of 22mm. Please refer to the link below for the details.

Small Brushes have a maximum knot size of 22mm. I've used and enjoyed brushes of all types and sizes. My favorites are the smaller variety. I currently have two brushes that meet this clubs criteria:
Simpson Wee Scott 14mm
Simpson Berkeley 20mm.

Daily SOTD, commentary and discussion is most welcome.

This brush has two shaves in the books and it has a lot of promise. I prefer smaller knots with backbone and a bit of scritch.

I recently PIF'ed my X3 Commodore. That one had about 100 shaves. It felt amazing but I found the the knot to large and floppy for my tastes. I'm happy to say it found a happy home and the new owner ( A Navy Guy!) has given it test drive and he expects to enjoy it for many years.

A 21mm Simpson M6 Manchurian, lathering an 80 year old puck of Colgate barber soap. This brush does not get a lot of love here at B&B due to the apparent glue bump, but I love it, perfect for when an M7 is just a bit too big. As for the soap, it is superb.

Even my favorite big brushes have short lofts, but they’re too dummy thicc to qualify

And I have a barely too big brush at 23mm at base and a pervy, tall loft

But just the first two will be used for SBOC fun and shenanigans.

This morning soaked the brush for a couple of minutes in warm water. For me I noticed two things: the brush felt a bit softer and it didn’t shed.
A small sample size but will continue this pattern.
