What's new

It's finally finished...It's been a VERY long night.

It's 7:55 am on June 19th.I haven't sleep in literally 24 hours. I just handed in my final paper for the summer term, which was due last night at 10. Oh well. As much as I'd like to sleep (although I actually don't feel all that tired) I have to go to work this morning. By which I mean my shift starts in 5...no wait now 4 minutes. Luckily it is around the corner and they are ok with me showing up a bit late, especially on a Friday morning. I'm going to get dressed, eat something fast and head over there. I'm stuck there until 4, and then I'm free! But I still can't go to sleep. I have to come home, shower, and get on a bus for 2 hours to get to Miss. Erin's house, and from there off to Bronte Creek to go camping until Saturday night, when i'll finally be able to come home to bed. It's gonna be a long weekend...

Have a good one guys

P.S. I'm not really sure what the point of this thread was. My brain is too tired to think lol.

EDIT:Let's make a point to this thread: Tell me stories of crazy all nighters you've pulled, and then maybe later I'll share with you my ultimate all nighter disaster story that involves me falling down a flight of stairs in Montreal after nearly 50 straight hours of being awake.

I've worked a few overnight shifts at a hospital after a day spent awake (don't worry -- I wasn't in charge of the life or death stuff...), but never could force myself to pull an all-nighter in college. I really don't know why.

At any rate, congratulations on having the term behind you -- how many terms to go? Enjoy your well-earned break!

OK, I will take you up on that. Back in battle school, one of the lovely tricks is (or perhaps was) to keep candidates awake and on the move for four nights and five days. During the fifth evening, on the route march back, Sgt Wilson hung his jacket around a sapling almost on the road. Sure enough, one by one, we stepped forward and challenged the "sentry" for permission to move in. Then, one by one, we stood in the road and wondered why "he" wouldn't respond.

Have a great time camping. Congratulations for getting through the term.

Here is mine:

I used to get up for work at 0430 hours and was at work by 0530. One day, my my wife was doing a job in South Bend, IN and her car broke down. After work, I drove to my Supervisor/friends house and borrowed his trailer. Because of wiring problems, I got a very late start. On the way home, I drove by the plant. It was 0500 hours. I thought, "Crap!" Ten miles down the road, three men in long, white robes came out of the woods and leaned on the hood of my truck and started having a conversation. I listened for a few minutes, and it began to accur to me what was going on. I nudged my wife to wake her up and said, "Can you call work? I'm not going to go today."

Whoa, this is like the beginning of an old cliffhanger. What was going on? Sleep deprivation hallucinations? Marauding druids? An interrupted Klan rally?

Hey guys...interesting stories!

I'm at home for my lunch break. I'm a bit sleepy but actually pretty much ok. I think once I got out of the seat I've been sitting in for hours I got some more energy. 3 hours and fifteen minutes left in my shift, I've still got both my 15 minute breaks left, and then its off for my first time camping

Thanks for the congrats on finishing the term. Although I do still have one exam to right, but I don't think it'll be too bad. We'll see.

I hate you :tongue_sm

That actually made my heart jump for a moment.

I got off work half an hour early. Now I need to bus my *** to the beer store cause I don't want to take my dad's last 12 pack from the fridge.

Congratulations.

When does the term end? I still have 8 weeks left. No term papers for me, physics and pre-calc, I don't think I could take a final paper.

Okay, how's this:

I was working as a Marine Guard at a small embassy (consulate actually, but let's keep this short). Because we had a rash of food poisonings in our detachment, thanks to some bad clams, I hadn't slept for a couple of days. As the night wore on, the hallucinations set in. By the time the sun was coming up, I was sitting with my back to a corner and a gun in my hand. Thankfully, the hallucinations faded enough with the daylight that my relief didn't get shot.

Good times.
