Italian Barber NOS Bakelite Slant (Cream Color)

I lucked out today and was able to order a NOS cream colored bakelite slant razor from Italian Barber (It took two weeks of daily checking the site since stock is very limited). I did some research prior to making the purchase and from what I've gathered, this is an excellent razor. I was just wondering if anyone that currently owns one can elaborate on just how good/bad this razor is? I do not own any bakelite razors (I hear that this razor might actually be plastic though). Thanks.

I got one a couple of months ago before they became so popular, and I quite like it. Only used it a couple of times though....

Bakelite is plastic, notably one of the first widely used thermosetting plastics. Thermosetting plastics harden with heat and the hardening is not reversible. They used to make jewelry, ashtrays, and cases for electronic equipment out of bakelite.

I was curious about this razor when I saw it, I was wondering if it was going to be really light in weight. I'm used to my heavy DE89 so wasn't sure what it would be like to shave with something that might be really light.

This is an excellent razor. I had considered purchasing a Merkur slant but LeisureGuy seems to like this one even better.

I don't own one but according to GeoFatboy it is a very light razor. He says it's good for trimming up around goatees and beards because you can feel when the blade hits the hair rather than plowing through it.

I have been eyeballing the red bakelite Merkur. Luckily i have not seen a deal i liked. I have come down with another hard case of RAD this last two weeks. Its quite the affliction.
