After strenuous trial and error, I found my blades, Astra Superior Platinum! I have been getting the almost perfect shave from those bad boys, and they are quite affordable at 13 cents a blade. I have always had extremely sensitive skin, and a confirmed metal allergy, so this is huge! By far the worst blade I encountered was the Derby. Man did those cause serious irritation. I was just too excited not to share the news!

I got a sampler pack of about 40 blades recently....and the Astra SPs are BY FAR MY FAVORITE!!!
Check out amazon. You can get them for really cheap there. I am about to go ahead and buy my first 100 pack sometime this week!

I think I own 400 Astra SP's . They were under 9 bucks for 100 on Amazon not too long ago.

1 got my 100 pack on eBay for 12.95 and that includes shipping. Not a bad price at all!
I do like the Astra's. For the price you can't beat them, but SuperMax blades are still my all time favorite...although I ran out of them a while ago. They were even sharper than Astra's in my opinion.
Love the Astra SP's. They work great in all my razors (especially the open-combs). Just ordered another 100 couple weeks ago. Gotta stock up ya know. Enjoy

Astra SP is the only blade I've bought a 100 pack of so far. Red Israeli Personna is another similar blade as well.
I just got six shaves out of a Red IP in my Slant. Astra, though, is also my go-to for close & comfortable in any razor, and five shaves (all I've tried so far) are no problem.
I'm liking bluebirds and Derbys at present, but who knows, that could change next week. I'll have to check out the astras....
Way to go!You know my first go with Astra wasn't good. May have to go back to them hearing so many positive reviews of them.

Thanks all! I'm loving these blades a lot. I may give a go at the Feather here in the near future. I have heard the Feathers work well for sensitive skin due to the easy glide they provide, I'm a poet and I didn't even know it.
My first shave with the Astra was excellent. Second go was nicks everywhere. Still better than a Shark.
I have over 900 Astra SP's.... and it's not even my favorite blade!!!

The Astra SPs are a favorite of mine, I have several hundred on hand. I've never experienced razor burn with the Astra SP blades, but I only get about three shaves per blade.
I've recently taken a shine to the Personna blades, sharp yet mild like the Astras.
