It Doesn't Like to Share a Rotation

I recently purchased my first MWF and I'll attest to the greatness of the product. However, I never knew what was meant when I heard it referred to as, "the soap that doesn't like to share a rotation."

I took one day off of the MWF and when I opened it the following day it was full of micro cracks. Nothing that I am worried about at least but I could not help staring at the puck like a damn petulant cat that just pissed around my house because I did not give it all my attention.

Do I need to worry about these cracks and keep MWF in my rotation all the time? I assume I can use it 2-3 times each week, hydrate the cracks when used, and not suffer any reduction in performance. If I am wrong please let me know.

Thanks, JVW

I use MWF only a few times a month (too many other options that I also like), and the cracks disappear as soon as you lather up. I haven't noticed any degradation at all. In fact, I used it this morning after about a month off, and had the best lather ever.

The cracks aren't a bad thing. Mine had a crack and then it grew about and 1/8 of an inch up from the rest of the puck... Just put a bit of water on it while you soak your brush.

I probably get to it 4 or 5 times a month (mine is in the porcelain jar thing and I keep it covered). It is just as good as when I use to use it 5 or 6 days a week. The cracks don't matter.

Maybe MWF is not all its cracked up to be? Take a crack at a real quality soap, like Williams or Arko. These kinds of threads just crack me up.:laugh:

Nothing to add to the other comments but I really like the cat metaphor. I am going to work it into the conversation at the earliest opportunity, so thanks for that!
