Is this a Coti?

I took a chance on this auction hoping this is a Coticule. Can someone check it out and see. If it is, how did I do? I see it has nicks in it but maybe they will come right out.

Yes. You did great. Not "Right" out, but coti lapping isnt too hard.

Thank you for that. I have a DMT 325 on the way so maybe i can lap it without messing it up lol. Judging by the crisp line that seperates the yellow from the base i guess i can rule out a BBW. But i'm still happy that i finally own a Coti! Now i just have to learn how to use it.

Just because there is a crisp line doesn't mean the bottom isn't BBW. They do glue/bond coti and BBW together. However, from the auction picture it doesn't look like BBW, but I am certainly no expert.

that is a pretty good buy. that looks to be a big coti from the pics plus all the other hones that I did not pay attention to.

Yea im thinking the other hones will be useless for straights but i can find other uses for them.

Looks like a glued BBW/coticule to me. I think you did very well.

Not bad at all. Now you just need a slurry stone. And that Crystolon will work nicely for very rough work on knives (and possibly razors if you're gentle?).
