I have now tried a few different styles of razors (EJ DE89, Fatboy, Slim, G1000, Open Comb Fatip) and I keep coming back to my first proper razor the EJ DE89. I am not sure why but this razor always seems to give me the best shaves but it is a three piece and I really like the twist to open designs. So my question is: Is there a vintage or modern razor out there like the EJ DE89 but with a twist to open design?

I get fairly similar shaves with the EJ and a vintage Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed.
Merkur progress has a "similar" designed head. It is 2 piece not TTO though
I have this same question. I love the TTO's!
There is only one Merkur that is a Twist to Open. The Merkur Vision. It's super expensive, and since it features plastic innards I wouldn't say it is built to last. It's also a freakishly large razor, so it would be nothing like a Edwin Jagger DE89.
You might want to take a look at the Parker line. Their most recent offerings are of much better quality than before. I had a Parker 29L (their clone of a Lady Gillette), and it's build quality, and shave was quite nice. I would say it was of medium aggressiveness; probably about the same level of aggressiveness as a the DE89.
