is the whole line of kent brushes any good?

i saw one at a store today. i don't see shaving brushes as often. not sure which one it was. should i get it?

Kent is a good manufacturer. They're the one that B&B gets some (maybe all) of their LE brushes from. The 2008LE I just scored is a very impressive brush. However, brushes vary a lot, as do preferences, so I don't think any one can or will make an honest recommendation on whether or not you should but a brush when all we know is that it's a Kent.

I can't speak for the entire Kent line but I can comment on the BK4. This is my go to brush for creams. The tips are incredably soft yet the brush has enough backbone for soaps. As icing on the cake the box that the brush arrives in is first class. It makes you feel like you have spent your money wisely.

I have both the BK4 and the H8 and love both. They have a nice backbone, but they are still soft especially after you break them in.

I have the BK 2, 4, 8, and 12. They are outstanding brushes. Very soft, maybe too floppy for some of the guys that like the stiff brusehs, but I find them to be very well made and good quality. The handle design feels great in my hand and they lather anything I put them to with no problem. The hair is great quality and feels nice and soft on my face.

I recently owned both BK4 & BK8.
Resold in the month.
I did'nt like these brushes ,soft at the tip indeed but too floppy for my taste.
I am now the happy owner of a ROONEY 1/2 finest and some SIMPSON
Paradise! nothing to do with Kent.

which shavemac feels on the face like a Kent BK8 but has the backbone and density to keep it from just splaying flat open? 22 knot preferred or 24. a 177? finest?

The Kent Silvertip hair is very soft - like a pillow of badger. I have used the 08 and now 09 LE, as well as an H8 which is Best hair. I actually prefer the Best hair.

Kent is a solid outfit, so you should give one a shot.

Silvertip or D01. Just make sure you get one with a 45 to 50mm loft if you want good backbone.
