Is it worth wearing cologne with Pinaud Clubman AS?

I could see Brut and Rive Gauche pour homme working well with Clubman. Maybe Guerlain Habit Rouge. Even though Clubman is one of the longer-lasting aftershaves, it will evaporate after a while so I wouldn't worry too much about the smells clashing.

IMO Clubman is certainly strong enough to stand on it's own, however if you are looking for something to pair with it, you'd probably be quite happy with Canoe as the scent is very similar and probably the closest EdT you will find to the Pinaud.

Hey, even though I have never smelled Clubman, I vote for Rive Guache and Habit Rouge just because they smell great.

I mix 2oz of Royall Lymes to 6oz of Clubman Citrus Musk (and 1oz of glycerine for increased the moisturizing and toning), for 'long-lasting' scent (at least that's what the Mrs. [she loves the scent], tells me after I return from a day of work).

I use Euphoria from Calvin Klein and my wife loves the combo and I frequently get compliments at work.

My wife bought me this same set for our anniversary this year to replace my Polo Explorer that she bought me awhile ago and I love it too. I find the a/s not very long lasting, or at least to my nose and very perfumy if that's really a thing, but I really like the set!

I can see how those combinations might work out nicely. However when I wear use any of the Pinauds as an AS, that's all I wear that day.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will eventually try to get some Canoe to go with it but right now I'll just wear it by itself.

I find that the Club on its own is fine for me. Same for other AS splashes. I guess I'm not a big cologne guy for daily use. For evenings or special ocassions I will finish with witch hazel and them cologne.

I'm wearing Canoe and Clubman right now, in fact. They do blend well.

They smell nearly identical.

However Clubman on it's own is quite strong, and I would fear wearing both together puts you dangerously close to being in "that guy" territory: the person who has seriously overdid it on their fragrance application, but most people don't bother to tell them this.

You can tell when their eyes are watering.

Dab a little clubman on your clothes ,undershirt, and that will linger enough for the acent to carry through the day. Plus I apply pinauds pretty liberally, because after the dry down, 20- 30 minutes its not as strong as out of the bottle and becomes more subtle. It tends to linger longer for me if I dab some on my undershirt. IMHO.

Early on when I was getting lots of razorburn, my face still felt like it needed moisturizer after the clubman. I reverted to my Cade ASB which had worked for me for years and discovered, completely by accident, a great scent combination. For me, a bit like the Reese's peanut butter cup of scent. Perfect together.

Unfortunately for all of you, Apple and I have a patent on it.

Clubman is strong enough on it's own, I would think it would overpower anything else worn with it, and would certainly garner you a lot of attention, but not the kind you are looking for, LOL.
