What's new

Is $125 too much...

I want it bad, real bad and self control under these circumstances is always a problem for me whether it's razors or Lionel trains.

Any other opinions out there? Come on, don't be shy, if I'm nuts tell me, please.

BUY, BUY, BUY!! If it's something you've wanted for a while, and you've got cash on hand, then why not? Oh, and by the way, all of my enabling is free of charge!:001_smile

I do believe you have come to the wrong place if you want to be encouraged to practice restraint. Then again, I also believe you knew this. So you have your answer.

Let us know how it shaves.

I recall saying, just a few short years ago, "What kind of maniac would spend $200 on a genuine 195?"

Now look.

I say buy it. There are very few mint razors out there now a days that are available for sale. I jump on everyone that I can, funds permitting obviously though.

Definitely show pictures once you recieve it!!!

Yep, I knew exactly what I was getting into when I posted the question. Enablers, all of you.

The reason I asked was I looked back at others sold here and they were all less, some with cases, others without, so it was hard to tell what kind of deal it is.

Thanks

Mike

Not if you can afford it. An antique-hound I know put it this way: assume everything you buy is fake and decide if you'd buy it anyway.

The way I see it, you're not buying a razor, you're buying time until your mind becomes occupied with buying another razor. How many days will $125 buy you? Then divide that into $125 to see how much it costs per day.

The problem with me is that every razor is the last one, so they're all worth it.

I say go for it. The fact that you asked about it means you really want it. While not rare, a nice cased HD 500 doesn't come up that often. I actually shaved with mine yesterday. It's a great shave and the razor operates so smooth like only the closed end British razors can.

My only reservation about these kinds of razors is that you can't use them much without destroying the value. It's like the "trailer queen" classic cars. They don't get driven or used as they're intended. They're just showpieces. If you want a collectible, great, but I buy razors to use and not worry about if I accidentally drop them.

Don't listen to them. They are nothing but a bunch of ENABLERS.

Listen to me.

Buy-Buy-Buy.... I am just as bad as they are ....
