not a chance.

but i am kind of kicking myself that a 4th gen iPad and a new Mac Mini is coming out 6 months after me buying them both.

i heard rumors about the ipad mini so i wasn't shocked, but what i was shocked at was the 4th gen iPad and Mac Mini and iMac announcements. didn't hear anything about any of those being new and coming out 6 months ago so i dove in.

I knew it would happen.

When the iPad was released, almost immediately, someone created a fake advertisement poster....

"April 18 - The iPad Nano!"

It was a photo of the iPod.

The specs dont look all that impressive for the price. I heard a rumor that google is coming out with a 32 GB Nexus 7 soon and they think the price will be $250.00.

DE, be sure to check out the mac rumors buyers guide linked below next time you are making an Apple purchase. It has great info on current Apple product cycles.

No mini for me. I have my eye on the new iPod Touch instead.

Have a iPad 2, which suits me just fine.

However Santa will be getting the wife a new Ipad 4. Gotta keep in the good books. :biggrin1:

Usually the cycle is one year between updating the product line but it was only about half a year for the iPad 4.

Ipad mini? Wouldn't that sort of be the same as an Ipod touch?

Oh and I'm not getting one. An Ipod touch is the only Apple product I need.

I think they will go back to the normal yearly cycle. The iPad 4 jumped the gun to sell more lightning peripherals.....

myself, i am still happy with my ipad 2 and just go the iphone 5, will be enough for a while.

I think I may get one. It'll be my first iPad. Not sure if I want to get that or a full sized one. The joy of having to make a decision.

for $170 more you get A LOT better product. the ipad 4 is going to be way better for browsing the web, running apps and watching video. IMO an ipad mini is only ideal for children and pre-teens, people that are basically just gonna read and play games. i know its exactly what i would get my kid. i wouldn't risk giving any kid a full sized ipad, but the mini is LIGHT, THIN, and just small enough for their tiny hands.

Not getting one. I honestly don't see the purpose of it. I have a laptop and an iphone. I personally don't even have a reason to have an ipad at all other than just having one.

I have the iPad 1, bought it used and barely use it. Im not too thrilled about where Apple is going, the new maps disaster etc.

I was waiting for the release of the mini, but now I think I'll end up getting the iPad 4 instead. Mini is priced too high imo.

Nope - not getting one.

My Google Nexus 7 is half the price and way more guts. It's smaller, but fits my hand nicely. It has a better screen and resolution.

I don't feel the need to buy into the "experience" as my training wheels came off when I was a kid.

Apple jumped the shark with this mini and the price point. It's totally aimed at schools. Indoctrinate them young. lol

A guy at work was playing with a Windows 8 install and it was interesting. I'd like to learn more about that. It will probably be overpriced as well and tied into their proprietary junk to be able to truly use it.

Apple is what it is and their unashamed healthy profit margins ensure I'll never join the cult.

My wife has the ipad3 and the 4gs phone. Whichever was just before the 5. For her, Apple is great. She doesn't have to think too much about how to use them. On the other hand, when she discovers a program or function that Apple has not anointed for use in their ecosystem, I have to figure out a workaround for her.

With the other tablets out there in this general size, I see no reason to drop that kind of coin on a mini ipad with last years components in it.
