Interesting Pocket Edition style case on etsy.

I haven't seen that particular etching detail on top of one of these cases before. It's in good shape too! I don't have a homeless gold Old Type or I'd grab it for that price.

I have one just like it that's a post-patent Old Type set. I'd swear that I've also seen a version of the same set with a NEW in it, so maybe it was just a later variation that crossed over from the late '20s into the '30s.

Yeah, that's just what my Big Fellow case looks like. I KNEW I recognized the engraving style from somewhere.

Well it is Def a 501 Set but not a 501B Set /
501 Be Sets were made with Old Type Heads, Not "New" Heads.
