Fridays are Fishtastic!
I enjoyed YetiDave's sourdough thread, and love sourdough bread. Having never baked bread before, I decided to start with something easy. I saw a recipe for greek whole wheat and thought "What the heck?". The wife and I just got done mixing, and it is sitting covered for 20 minutes before first kneading. Wish me luck.

Here is the recipe I used:

I am disappointed, as the bread fell a little (even with the top of the bread pan). The true test will be taste, though. Letting it cool for 20 or so

Intrigued

Bigfoot & Bagel aficionado.
It tastes good. I think I didn't knead enough, though.

Using all whole wheat flour without any white flour can be tricky. It makes the bread really dense. For your next attempt, you might want to try a recipe from allrecipes.

I like to use their recipes when I'm trying to cook or bake things I haven't done before. People rate the recipes that are posted there, so I try and aim at recipes that a lot of people have tried and rated highly.

OC getting that loaf look is tough and I have the same problems when I use a pan. One trick you might like is stop by your local Home Depot or Lowes. Go to the Garden section and buy a Non Glazed Terra Cotta Pot and also a large Non Glazed Terra Cotta Garden Plate that the Pot sits on to keep water from draining all over the place. I have one that is about the size for a large 12 inch pizza. They work great for making any type of bread items you just need to place it in the oven the turn the heat own as it would crack if you put it into a hot oven cold. I seasoned mine over a weekend with cooking oil and the oven set at 300 degrees. I prefer using the Garden Plate, but the flower pot does make a pretty loaf of bread that does not fall.

I'll poke around and try again tomorrow.

And the obsession begins  it's a shame it didn't work out first time but the trial and error's part of the fun. And the errors are usually still edible! If you want a higher rise I'd mix 50/50 whole wheat and white flour, might give that recipe a shot too

I will give it a try.
