Inexpensive Lime

I picked up some Kiss My Face lime shaving cream for just over $4 yesterday and gave it a go this morning. Easy and abundant lather, slick, real nice shave - but not much lime. So I'm going to continue the quest for lime. I'm trying to locally source some Dettol Fresh or Godrej. Anyone have experience with either of those scent-wise? Barring that, how does Old Spice Lime stack up? Maybe next Christmas I'll drop heavy hints about Castle Forbes (based on the enthusiastic input here), but there isn't going to be $35 dropped on that anytime soon. Pushing the cost envelope would be JM Fraser, but I'd really like to stay below $10 if possible. Input?

The regular JM Fraser is a huge 450ml tub, literally 3 times the size of a normal 150g tube of shave cream. The indian creams and such usually come in tubes that are under 100g.

JMF has a lime scent put it's not a punch you in the face lime scent. It might be about the same or perhaps a little stronger than KMF. I doubt the others are going to be strong enough for you either if you really need intense lime. For that, you'll have to shell out for the Castle Forbes, probably.

Another possibility would be a lime scent shave soap from Mama Bear or a similar vendor. Either that or you can go buy some lime essential oil and add a few drops to your KMF to get more lime.

Frasers is the best bang for the buck shave cream out there IMO, adding lime EO to this in small batches sounds like that would work well.

I'm tossing in another vote for Fraser. Since it can be found for $10-$14 CDN, but -- as mentioned -- you're getting around 300 ml more than the competition, you really can't lose.

To put it another way: you wanted to stay below $10 but since most creams are 1/3 of Fraser's volume, imagine you've purchased four tubs for $10-$14.

Again, if you would consider a shave soap, I recommend anything from Kells Original. Here's their lime...

Kell's Original Ultra Aloe Blend Shaving Soap

They put in a lot of scent. You can buy samples that are about 1/3 a full bar of soap for not much. postage not much.

I like their products.

Go for a Pirate's Cove Lime (although it's a soap, and you'd prefer a cream)

Strongest lime I've ever smelled, and it Geo-F-Trumps any other cream or soap (delicious pun)

^ The product you're looking for is J.M. Fraser's Classic Shaving Cream. I've seen it available at Fendrihan's, Shoebox Shave Shop, and Amazon (although it is actually sold by a third-party).

Can someone post a link to frasers lime? i can't seem to find it. thanks.

TheShaun, JM Fraser's original just smells like lime.
If your interested you can find it at Anthony's on the North Shore.
Goes nice paired with the Booster's Lime carried there as well

Thanks Riley. Sadly Anthony's isn't open on the weekends. Guess I'll have to grab one down the road. Do have some boosters lime on the way though.
