Around 2,000 men participate in a mass shaving event in India's western Mumbai city in an effort to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Yeah, but you did notice that it happened in Mumbai, the largest city in India? It's the commercial and entertainment center of India. Cartridge razors and canned gel likely rule there because of wealth and international influence more so then in any part of the country.

Quite true - The old school Atra sold as the "vector" at the minimum if not all the Mach3 and fusion razors. Cartridges rule in major indian cities, not DE. Foam and Gel not so sure, the Shave Creams still outsell the goo.
