What's new

Identify this razor please

I was wondering if this is the fabled "Big Fellow"

It says - Pat.Jan,13,1920 U.S.A on the

handle end.

And......the rigged handle body comes apart from both ends. Which is the stuck end.

Somebody please help !!!

Thanks

Yes. It looks like the original Old Type Big Fellow. It's not the right case though. It came in the wooden case.

It should have a serial number as well. However my Big Fellow has a 1904 patent date on the handle.

It´s a standard Old Type produced after Aug. 2, 1921 (Krumholz page 165). The Big Fellow don´t fit in this case.

"Single Ring" Old Type (much more common in gold in the later years I think). You also asked which end should be stuck, originally the head was fixed to the handle, and unless I'm mistaken (or something changed from earlier versions), the patent numbers will be on the end of the handle that is away from the head (sounds like you are considering affixing it back to it's original configuration).
