identify this Dovo razor

Hello, everyone:

I ran across this razor and was wondering if anyone can identify it. It is a Dovo but since I am unfamiliar with straights can anyone determine the model?

Sorry for the bad pics as I saw this on the fly while on the road and took the pictures with my camera phone.

If it helps any, there is a "38" stamped on the blade once opened.

Also, the case says "W. Germany." Is that normal for all Dovos or is this something that is an older straight, pre the fall of the USSR?

I am contemplating experimenting with a straight but would like to get some info on this first.

Thanks.

The Model/Series 38 was just recently discontinued by Dovo (late 2007). It had been a staple in the Dovo product line for many years. The "38" essentially is the pattern number associated with this style blade. We still have just a few left in the 6/8", or Model 38 680, which we called our "Classic Black". These razors have always represented the entry level into the Dovo line. Specifically, the 38 series is a carbon steel, half-hollow ground razor, that was available in 4/8", 5/8", and 6/8", with black celluloid scales. It's place in the Dovo line-up has been taken oven by the Model/Series 100 (full-hollow) and the Model/Series 101 (half-hollow).
