IC-50 Pilot Cartridges

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well!

I had a quick question. I now have two fountain pens, the Pilot Metro and the Pilot 78g that just came in yesterday from Hong Kong. Im planning on ordering many more, and I've got two in my sights already :thumbup1:

My Metro came with an IC-50 Cartridge, and my 78g off of ebay came with a pack of six.

I have a bottle of Aurora Black, and a bunch more colours are coming soon hopefully.

I've decided to burn through my cartridges before putting in the converters and using the Aurora. How long do these IC-50 carts last? I'm planning on taking notes at my college with them because they are really nice to write with and I'm dying to use the bottled inks

Thanks in advance, you guys are always very helpful!

I'm my opinion, carts seem to last forever. I'm thinking a out switching to them in my Pilot VP for the capacity, but I'll probably end up refilling them with bottled ink once I use one.

In my experience, when you want to burn through ink, it seems to last forever. Having said that if you are writing daily notes and you have a wet writer you should use them up quite quick.

How long a cart lasts depends on a few factors - nib width, paper quality and obviously how much you're writing. As a rough guide, I'd say I get 8-10 pages of A4 writing on both sides of the page.

Just like you I have some cartridges I've committed to using before filling up on bottled ink. I often find myself doodling on the edge of a page when I've nothing to write, muttering "when will this cartridge do the decent thing and run out?"

I use my FA nib all the time, and I have a cart in that pen at the moment, its wide flexing nib would use a lot more ink then your pens would, and Im on a couple of weeks here, I would imagine you would be close to maybe the same time frame to a bit more since you probably take more notes then me here at work

rough guess 2-4 weeks

Haha thanks everybody! Worst case scenario, I make myself write with my fountain pens more! I'm pretty happy with this dilemma to be honest
