What's new

I won a Super Speed

More than I would have paid. However it is basically brand new based on the pics. If you are planning on using it, then great job. This will be years of enjoyment, good job. The RAD only gets worse. Maybe since you got the first one out of the way you will be even more patient in the future. Congrats again

Yes, I definatly plan on using it, I'm very curious to see how it measures up to the rest of my razors. I would not have payed that much unless it was pristine :)
I think you're right, I'll be much more patient in the future now that I have this one :) But if I should happen on a great deal on a Fat Boy or a President, I might still succumb :)

Post back after you use it a time or two and let us know if it shaves as good as it looks. I was tempted to bid on it, but I had already bought 2 other razors this week. Considering the seller, I didn't think it would go that cheap so I didn't post a bid. The SS is still my favorite DE. I even have a second SS as a backup. I favor the IP Red blades in my '52, but your 7 O'clock greens should also be a good combo. The SS with a Derby is a nice mild combo if your face needs a break from a more aggressive razor or blade.

The only person you have to please is yourself!

You're obviously happy, as well you should be in looking forward to receiving such a beautiful piece of Shaving equipment... and history.

Enjoy your pristine Super Speed! You're gonna' love it!

Nice, that is almost exactly like the one I almost bought. Enjoy, they make great shavers, you will be pleased.

Thank you all for your feedback :) I'm very happy with the wonderful condition the razor seems to be in. I thought it was a bit pricey myself also, but if I was getting one, I wanted it to be in as good condition as possible and that means other people will want it too. I know that my enjoyment of it's good condition over the years to come will more than make up for the extra few $ spent now. I have taken the cheap route before with other things I bought and ended up regretting it.

Buy cheap - buy twice.

Isn't that the guy that replates razors?

No, there has been no mention of replating, they have also sold quite a few razors that was not in mint condition recently. The sellers are a husbond and wife team that have a couple of thousand sales under their belt with a clean 100% positive feedback.

For an SS that looks like it was made yesterday that is probably a fair price, though I am no expert. You sure don't see many that look that clean.

The SS is a gives a nice shave, I would not worry about being disappointed about that!

Enjoy the shaves :001_smile

You can do your own research but there was an all Gold Super Adjustable or two sold by that guy. Guess the fact that there is no record of anything like them ever appearing anywhere else means nothing to you.

I could give a crap what his feedback is. That vendor has a bad rep on this forum and he earned it fair and square.

I must admit that I find a pristine finish suspicious when the razor is not in its original case. Where has it been stored all these years?

That said it looks like a fine razor and should give you many excellent shaves. Enjoy it.

I've seen a fair amount of innuendo about this seller, but people seem to stay away from direct statements. Regardless, I haven't bid on his stuff mainly because I'd rather pay a lower price to get something that's just mechanically sound, even if it has a blemish or two. So far it's worked out.

No reason the OP can't enjoy that shiny, flawless looking SS though. I'd like one that looks that good.

Yeah, I'm not really an innuendo kind of guy  If he's happy with his purchase then he's doing fine. Would I buy that one? Maybe. It'll shave great and look nice for years to come. I'm not sold on it being NOS or pristine or whatever.
