I Think My RAD Is Getting Bad!

I've been DE shaving for Just under a Month. I Joined the Forums 3 weeks ago to learn all I can from the members and partake in this Adventure called Wet Shaving. Lol. When I joined I had started out with a 1965 Slim I had snagged on the Bay for a decent price including nice Travel Tech from '62. I was using Neutrogena Shave Cream and Nivea aftershave and loading my razor with Studio 35 blades from the drug store. I was content. That was until I joined the Forum. Then I saw, that I was a Newb and had no clue what I was doing. :mad3: I still really don't. Haha. I Began my hunt and quest to find more Razors and better shave soaps, creams and blades to get those nice Non-irritated shaves! To date I have amassed 8 razors in all. I have one Slim to a buddy who wanted to get into DE shaving. I added more soaps and creams and a Smapler razors to get me through and find one that works best for me.

Here is a List of the Razors I currently have: a 1921(?) Bigelow & Parkin Folding razor, a 1959 Gillette Executive, 1962 Slim Adjustable, 1962 Travel Tech, 1963 Super Speed, 1965 Slim Adjustable, and a 1977 Super Slim Adjustable. ~ Two of the Razors I have gotten from members right here on the forums. The Folding Bigelow Razor and my birth year/qtr Super Slim Adjustable.

I feel My RAD is Outa Control and only gonna get worse:001_rolle

Man you've got a bad case of RAD! I would probably in the same boat as you but my girlfriend would kill me!

Hey How does that birth year razor shave for ya Fox?

My girlfriend knows I'm a All in kind of guy. She doesn't say much about it, except my stuff gets in the way sometimes. Lol. I shaved with the Slim today using an Astra before the mail came. But I'm sure it will shave great. It weighs a lot less than my Slims. I like the feel of the handle length in my hand. Will use it next shave. :thumbup1:

Luckily my RAD is just about totally gone. I was at an antique store today and found a L-1 Super Speed in real nice condition for only $8 and I actually didn't buy it. Of course if it had been an L-3 which is my birth quarter it might have been a different story.

We've all been there brother.(Just need to find an Executive razor to complete my set like yours) But at the end of the day keep in mind it's just a shave and to have fun.
Cheers!

Nice set up;)

It gets much worse before it starts to get any better. Trust me. I know

Amen. You'll acquire a big stack of razors before the RAD will finally start to let up. Just in time for you to pick up another AD. So far, I've had RAD, SRAD (straights), and now I have SBAD. The ADs have no end in sight.

You still need to add a red tip and a fatboy at a minimum. LOL:thumbup: Nice collection though.

I found a Blue Tip at a local Antique shop for $25. Didn't get it. Figured the superspeed was about the same as far as shave at 1/3 the price. And yeah, I do want a Fatboy! No rush to find it. I want to get one in the wild as opposed to eBay. :biggrin1:

And thanks for the encouragement guys. Lol. I have begun thinking do I really need 10+, 20+ razors. I think I might. Just don't tell my girlfriend. Ah who am I kidding. She can have her shoes and make up brush collection and ill have my razors. I love the quality of the craftsmanship and the look of the razors from yesteryear. I am drawn to the look of the Futur but from the reviews it sounds far too aggressive for my sensitive skin.
