I got a nice little 4/8 in the post yesterday that came shave ready. I bought it with the idea of using it to shave under my nose. I thought that I'd give it a try this morning and it worked really well. I used the small straight to do the moustache area and 6/8 to do the rest. It means I have to strop 2 razors instead of one but that's not a chore for me. I quite enjoy it. Well worth trying I think, especially if you're going to use a big bladed straight.

If the blade is shave ready, shaving the whole face shouldn't be a problem 4/8 or 6/8.
How did you find the shave? What type of 4/8 is it? Wedge, brand?

It's a half hollow Simmons Howe (Germany). The hair under my nose pretty much grows up into my nose so it's really difficult to get a big blade with any sort of angle to cut whiskers. The small straight was a dream.
