I have a gold Gillette Tech, what do I do with it?

A guy gave me this razor which from my web search I believe to be a gold plated Tech. Sorry, I'm "between cameras" or I'd have a pic. It's obviously a three piece and it doesn't appear to be the fat handled version as it has a solid ball at the base. There is no "Gillette" embossed on the head. Overall it's in good shape but my main newbie question besides whether I've identified the razor correctly is what I should do with it.

Is it worth shaving with or should I stick with my 40's and 50's Super Speeds? Should I sell it? Or should I hang on to it for it's antique charm? Thanks in advance.

I admit up front that I smitten by the ball-end Tech, but I think you should give it a whirl. The blue tip SS is supposed to give a similar shave to a Tech, so if you like your SS's you might well like the Tech.

Ball End Tech's are great shavers! Very mild, but will still get you a BBS shave if you use the proper technique.

I think if 'twere me, I'd shave with it for a while, and decide for myself whether or not I liked it. My first DE was a Tech, which I'm now trying to trade for a couple of particular date code razors, but I liked it a lot. On the other hand, I like SS's better, but YMMV...

Are the gold Ball End Techs as light in weight as the aluminum Ball End Techs? The Ball End Tech was my first razor, which I used solely for 8 months or so. It's a very good razor IMO, but I like the little more hefty ones, like the Super Speeds.

AFAIK, the gold ball-ends are brass, so they will weigh more than the aluminums.
