Outstanding!!! Beautiful razor, that model is on my wish list.
Your wife has great taste in shaving equipment, she rocks
Sorry to hear about your foot

Good news, bad news on that one:
Good news is that in my opinion it's the prettiest of all the lather-catchers, it's called a STAR Victorian model (or at least that's what I've heard them referred to).
Bad news is that it is one of the few lather-catcher models that can't use a modern single-edge blade, so you have to use one of those old wedge blades like you see in the picture you have above. The problem with that is that it is very difficult to find one that is shave-ready, and most of them either have chipped edges or rusted edges. If you can find a blade that is in pretty good condition, you can find one of the honemeisters to hone and strop it for you and make it shave-worthy. It will probably cost you somewhere between $15 - $25 to get them to hone one to the point that it's shave ready. The good news is that once that is done, you can get a VERY close shave with it... go slow until you get the hang of it since it's the closest you can get to a straight razor without it being a straight razor, but it's very cool in my humble opinion to be shaving with a 100+ year old razor with a 100+ year old blade. You might want your wife to send the blade off to a honemeister while you're gone so it'll be ready when you get there. They probably need to look at a good pic of it first to see if they can hone it. Was there only one blade with it? Where are you stationed in Texas?

Yea I noticed the wedge blade which had me thinkin about having to use that same blade. That's the only one it came with so I hope there isn't a problem with it. If there is would one of the wedge blades from the rolls fit this razor? I'm currently stuck at fort hood "the great place" which is false advertisement lol

You could post a good picture or two of that blade on one or two of the forums on B&B to see if someone thinks they could hone it to get it shave-ready and what they would charge or PM me and I'll give you the name of the guy who honed a couple of those blades for me and got them shave-ready.
