I finally scored some finds!

Went down to the local antique market with the Missus and found 3 razors which I got for $30.

1)wardonia plastic handle 3 piece with plastic case. Anyone know anything about this one?

2) nice ever-ready single edge in metal case with a few vintage blades - I'm thinking a 1912 Gem type? Head is still perfect and shiny.. Box is not..

3) and a silver plated rolls razor in a pebble blue case. Stone and strop look to be in good condition!

I also found some Pinaud clubman aftershave, some old school talc powder and brush and some booster hair tonic across the street at a beauty supply outlet.

I also found some Pinaud clubman aftershave, some old school talc powder and brush and some booster hair tonic across the street at a beauty supply outlet.

heh.. yuppers! I was following up on the clubman lead and somehow convinced my wife to visit the bank Street antique market...

That place is hit or miss but you can bargain some good deals! Seems as though the guy couldn't understand who would want to use these..

At least someone is finding something! It seemed everywhere i went today someone was a few days ahead of me! I stopped at two antique shops today looking for DE razors and both guys said "what do you want with those?" I told them that I'm going to sart a collection and they told me that another person had been there and scooped up the 3 or 4 that they had just a few days ago!

There are still a few injector style razors (I don't quite understand how to buy new blades yet) and 2 more Rolls razors there.. lol... 1 in good condition and 1 with a cracked honing stone...

I sense that this has just gotten my wife interested in hunting for shaving antiques... oh oh...

I got my first DE,a Canadian Tech in a ABC type case, from that market. I stopped at a garage sale yesterday, asked if they had any razors, lady looked at me and said nobody has ever asked her for that before! Didn't have any.

Will the Wardonia work with regular DE blades? I've passed on several over the years because it doesn't look like a blade will fit properly.

Good to know, I was going to order another bottle of Pinaud-Clubman, good to know I can just pick it up locally. Thanks for your post.

I like the looks of that Wardonia. The shops I've been going to seem to just have the same old stuff. They did have a Rolls last time but I didn't buy it as I can't see myself using it.

Will the Wardonia work with regular DE blades?

Just checked and from my review of the threads it looks like wardonia made their barrel blades differently (the holes are closer together). Perhaps a few snips and I could get one to fit, but it would be a hassle. lol

The blades that came with it appear to be a tetanus shot waiting to happen!
