I choose the razor. Help.

Hello everybody!:001_smile
Please to help me with a choice of the razor. There are following razors -1955 Gillette Diplomat, 1934 Gillette Aristocrat, 1958 or 1959 Gillette Fatboy. What of them you would prefer to get? I wish to hear your opinions before buying one of them.
Many thanks!
Regards!

i've heard nothing but good things about all of them, so go with the aristocrat because it starts with a... unless you want an adjustable then go with the fatboy...

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these. My personal preference for vintage Gillettes are the slim, followed by the FB

Looks like you have some DE experience.

What razor do you most enjoy now and why?

I have them all and really enjoy Diplomats and FatBoys.....

I too would like to hear what your preferences are. Each of these 3 are so completely different from each other. The Aristocrat's shave will be a bit more aggressive than the Diplomat, though by no means will it bite you. Mechanically, many of the original Aristocrat's suffer from a design flaw, rendering the twist to open feature compromised. The silo doors can still be opened, but it may require some powerful twisting. Be sure before you buy this model, it opens and closes smoothly.

The Fat Boy is in a class by itself, given its adjustable qualities, though some find it a bit top heavy. I too love this razor, but it would not be my first choice, though I would have to have it nonetheless, since it is so damn cool. It is the only silver toned one of the 3.

The Diplomat is a very, very elegant razor. It delivers a very beautiful, consistently smooth shave. It comes with a straight safety bar v.s. the Aristocrat's open comb.

These 3 razors are at the top of Gillette's line. You can not go wrong with any of them, but it will be difficult to resist, in time, not getting all of them.

The Diplomat would get my vote. I've yet to find a smoother, more effective razor (for myself).

I agree. Alex, the best shaving DE of the razors you listed is the Diplomat. All are good, But rhe Diplomat is a standout.

Where in Russia are you located?

Many thanks to all who has expressed the opinion. Still I am in meditation - before a choice.
I'm not ready to answer yet what of my razors most enjoy now and why. Recently has purchased Muhle R41. I have a shave with all of them serially and I can't to tell what to me it is pleasant and why more. All of them are good ...:001_smile
