What's new

I am happy customs isn't holding my order

So i placed an order for a Semogue 620 brush on June 16, 2010. It is now June 29th, 2010. It has been 13 days and i still haven't received my brush. I have contacted Bruno and we have been in communication, the package got held up a customs or something like that. I know it's not Bruno's fault it just really sucks not to have a smooth transaction. Plus Im ready to try out the brush! Im like a kid at Christmas! Anyway i just thought i would share my rant with fellow wet-shavers who know how exciting it can be to be waiting on a new product. :bored::bored: and who know how disapointing it can be not to receive it.. :bored::bored:

I don't think that two weeks is that long to wait for something coming from the other side of the pond. Hopefully you'll get it before too long.

Maybe the post title should be "bummed about customs holding up my brush"?

The way it is now, it sounds like a problem with the vendor which, from your post, it doesn't seem to be. Sounds like the vendor has done all he could to get it to you.

While I can share in the feeling of "comeoncomeoncomeon", two weeks really isn't too long. :)

Just purchased a new str8 from Edwin Jagger and it got here in 6 days from when I placed the order. Not sure why your order should be held so long.

Possibly the declared valuation has something to do with it? Or they are backed up.

Most likely customs has their heads stuck in an inaccessible, dark location.

TheVintageScent is in Portugal I believe. The 3 times I have received packages from them, it took around 2 months. One time was a little over a month.

I am not sure exactly why it took so long except that it got held in Customs in NYC for close to a month itself.

You will get the package, so do not worry

They're are a lot of counties worse then the US as far as customs holds.
I have my overseas clients drop me an e-mail when they receive their orders, Finland is the worst taking over a month followed my Denmark and the Easter European countries.
Ireland is the best with my client receiving their package in a week, The UK and Spain are pretty good too with delivery in about 2 weeks.
I bought a Becker Car stereo from a site in the UK and it not only got held by customs but got sent back because the vendor didn't provide the FCC certificate. By the time I got my refund the exchange rate had changed and I lost $20.

The only customs hold I have ever experienced so far was a few years back. The package was only coming from Canada and took 7 weeks, it was just an inexpensive telescope eyepiece.

I had a coti held up in New York for about a month. Guess they couldn't wrap their pointed little heads around why someone would be importing a rock.

I waited about a month for my EJ BB brush from the english shaving company. It wasn't their fault I know, but I try to order stuff stateside to not have to deal with that. I suck at waiting.

You didn't order one of those "kits" in which the brush handle is empty and the fur is still on a live badger did you?
Badgers and customs officials don't get along well. Same personality I guess.

Got the Brush in today! I can't wait to try it tomorow! Thanks for the stories! I would't have known what to do if it was 2 months! haha.
