How to store 1kg blocks of Cella & P.160

I'd like to order the 1kg blocks of P.160 & Cella, but obviously this stuff will take me years to use.

Can my unused product be frozen without damaging the product? Hey, this stuff might be in the freezer for years. I've still got lifetimes of other soaps and creams to use.

I'm more concerned about Cella since I've read of it starting to rot in other forums. In a way Cella's rot is the effect of a soap without chemical preservatives. I'm I wrong?

Sounds like you keep it airtight in a freezer bag and saw off a chunk when needed. Thanks.

How long have you had it in the freezer for? Any side affects from freezer burn over the long term

If you are not going to use it often, then why buy a brick of it? Or if you really do want to buy the brick, sell off what you don't think you'll use in a reasonable amount of time. It is fairly easy to cut them up into 100g (or so) cubes. :001_smile

Had it in the freezer for over 6 months. Actually what I do is use a freezer grade zip lock and take the air out before I put it back in the freezer. The soap seems just fine so far, I estimate it will last me over two years. I'm not in the same situation as you because don't rotate soaps. I've tried many and Cella is the best for me, so I don't bother using any others. Hope this helps, Pete

i've cut the 1kg block into ~110g pieces, each one wrapped into cling film and then packed them all together into a freezer bag.

I use only Cella and the brick lasts me two years. I keep it in its box in a cabinet in the bathroom and I've never seen it turn brown.

Freezing soap really?? Love this soap great lather,I just put the extra in a a freezer bag and back in the box it goes, then on the shelf it goes(good luck with frozen soap)

I would recommend 'canning jars' whatever size/shape works for you. If you warm the glass in the microwave for a few seconds then drop in your soap and put on the standard two piece lid that sucker will seal tight and those soaps if kept in a cool, dark place will last for your grandkids.

I bought some cella 9 years ago and just store it in the open air in a tupperware container. The scent is gone and it just smells like soap but it lathers and performs great. I've done that with several other bars of shaving soap as well, they all perform great but do lose their smell. I've never had soap go bad before personally.

I would say part the brick and place parts in tupperware with screw on lids.. stack up in a cool dry place.. keeps the scent for the most part from what I have read online
