How to Polish a Gold Razor

How would one go about polishing a gold razor? I saw one on the bay that I'm thinking about bidding on but before I do i'd like to know what would go into cleaning it. From what I understand, Scrubbing bubbles and barbicide are fine but never use maas. How would I put a shine on it then?

Don't use a toothbrush, that's an abrasive. You can use a jeweler's rouge with a cotton ball or Q tip. I know some have said that they have had trouble using the Never Dull cotton wadding type of material but I have used it without a problem to shine up gold razors and the gold boxes, it takes the tarnish off. I think it depends on how much the plating is worn off the surface and I wouldn't overuse anything. good luck bc

Here's another thread on it. There doesn't seem to be a consensus on it except to be careful. Start with the most mild and work up.
