How to keep shaving soap free of hair?

I often get small, whiskers, or sometimes large hairs in my shaving soap. Sometimes i wipe/scrape with a tissue to remove them. What do you use to keep your shaving soap clean?

Don't buy it from CVS, apparently.

I just pick or rinse the hairs off if they bother me.

I have several bowls of "goop" tacky, soft soaps that work well mashed together with all manner of soaps that don't into some abomination that will surely one day develop sentience. I always lather new (and used) brushes several times upon arrival with these monstrosities. This removes any loose hairs, washes the brush, etc. So brushes shedding into my soap tends not to be a problem. I really don't notice non-brush hairs getting into my shave soaps much. I tend to keep them covered though.

Never had this problem myself. How are you getting the hairs there in the first place?

It happens for me if/when I put the brush back onto the soap during a second lathering to load a bit more soap. The hairs that end up on the soap don't bother me in the slightest. If they did, I'd just pop the cover on the soap.

i rinse mine after if there are any stray brush-hairs in it or pick out with my finger.

i've never noticed any facial hair in it, but i rarely have to reapply during my shave. i make sure i load it up nice and good initially and rarely have to reapply soap to the brush.

I may occasionally get a badger hair that breaks off during loading. I always do a few extra swirls with the brush during the shave and my wife's hair seems to get everywhere, but I haven't found whiskers or other hairs on the soap.

Most of the hair comes from reloading the brush during the 2nd or third pass, these are the so called "whiskers" -not to be confused with those from the cat... also get a few from the brush now and then.

:lol:Now THAT made me laugh!

The "soaps" I have are closer to croaps including the new RR Artisans and of course QCS. I do not use the brush in them but scoop out a bit and squish it on the bottom of the bowl. This way the jar/container of soap remains water and debris free.

I've never had stubble get into my soap. I have however received two soap containers from BST that had someone else's stubble in them. If this is an issue for you please clean them out before selling them. Gross.......
