How to Identify Muhle Razor?

Does anyone here know who to identify Muhle DE safety razors?

My roommate has one I really like, but he doesn't know what model it is...

Pretty easy. Post a pic as described above, we will be able to tell you instantly. Or, look at the safety bar on the razor. Muhle only makes 2 kinds of head now. If it has very shallow, almost dimples in the safety bar it is an R89. They also call it the R101, R102 if it has colored resin handles like white or black instead of a metal handle.

If the safety bar has really deep scallops with defined ridges in between its the R41. They also call it the meat grinder or facial hamburger machine, because it's pretty aggressive.

Several years ago they did make a true open comb design. This one would look like it has thin square teeth cut out of the bar. They haven't made this one since 2010 I believe.

Thanks folks! Based on what Jeff has said, it looks like a R101 or R102. Would definitely appreciate some confirmation though. I love this razor, it really seems to get close and not cause too much irritation at all. Does anyone know any other razors that are similar? I don't want to totally rip off my roommate's taste...

I was originally gonna get the Edwin Jagger. So, I could during for the EJ, get the same shave, and possibly look better than him doing it? Sounds like a win!

I think the shave is better with the EJ simply because of the heavier handle, it has the exact weight and balance that I like. I used to use my EJ handle on my r41 for the same reason.

Went with the Muhle, mainly because it's made in Germany, and I'm German hahaha. Thanks everyone for your guidance!

R89 head with black handle = R106

edit:
D'oh! Guess I should have written my reply in bold letters and way bigger so the OP could read it all the way back in November.
