How much is enough?

In the event of Shavepocalypse, how many DE blades and soaps are enough? Also, curious who holds the record on B&B for most DE blade hoarding.

As many as your can afford would be necessary for me.

Going by my average usage, I would need about 2600 more blades. I might get that by next month.

You can never have too many of either.

Personally,............. I'm down to 3.....Blades

6/8 "Silver Fisher" #76 Germany
5/8 "Progress"/A.F.&Co. #287 Germany
*6/8 Wade & Butcher Sheffield England

*Carried from Liverpool England to New Amsterdam, Indiana circa 1858 by my Great Great Grandfather, now in my possesion.

Ok hang on a minute...I turned 41 two days ago. I predict I will die on my
84th birthday so 43 years to go. I change blades each Sunday morning (kinda a religous act actually) so 52 blades per year...

43
52
2236

I need exactly 2236 blades...and wait for it...my birthday in 2053 is on a Sunday!!!! I am going out on a New Blade!

Now I wonder exactly how much Tabac aftershave I need to order???

I'd have close to 1000 DE blades, 120 SE blades and 70 injector blades. When they run out I've got 5 or 6 straights that will see me through.

I think that I'll survive in regard to cream and soap for quite a few years as well.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'd be using those straights for all they're worth now, and leaving the DE blades for your dotage. A cut-throat in the hands of the frail aged can be a very terrifying thing.

If I live 25 yrs more @ 1 blade per week, which is what I get now with Iridium and Swedes, I would need 1300 blades and a whole bunch of soap. I better start stockin up. Oh by the way when is this going to happen?:tongue_sm:blush::w00t::glare::huh::blink:

Does someone know something they're not telling me? How long would my 150 feathers last at 4 shaves per blade? Only 2 years, fill my online cart quick!!!!!

Let's see... I'm 20. Let's round up to 21, my birthday is in July.
I change my blade every week.
Average male life expectancy in the USA is 75.6, but I want to move to Canada where it is 78.3.

54.6 * 52 = 2939.2
57.3 * 52 = 2979.6

2839 more blades in the USA
2980 more blades in Canada

Assuming I have an average length life anyway.

Side Note: I only have 115ish right now.

You need to either stock up or take up the sport of chain smoking, chainsaw juggling sky-diving.

I use about 100 blades a year. I'm 30 so let's say I have another 50 years or so. 5,000 blades. That's a thousand pounds or less on blades for a lifetime supply, although I think they'd start to deteriorate after the first couple of decades. I'd just need maybe 5 brushes and maybe 50 each of soaps and creams. I'm hoping at least some of the razors I have, which have already seen more than 50 years, will last for another 50.

Right now I've probably got a few hundred blades at most so I'm good for a few years.

Has anyone else switched to cream mainly for the reason it's supposed to deteriorate faster? I've been at this wetshaving game for nearly 2 years and some of the creams I have date from the start of my "career" - don't want any TOBS especially to go to waste!

Shavepocalypse is purely hypothetical, of course :wink2: I am 42, and have about 600 blades, which will probably last me 12 years (one blade per week). My goal is to stockpile 2000 blades, which should keep me smooth faced until I am 82 :001_smile.

Most blades, or best blade? Quality over quantity in my book.

I have enough Personna 74's to last my lifetime, plus some to use when I come back.

Now I just need a few gallons of the Veg.
