How many shaves before replacing the blade...

I put about three shaves on a blade, but can sometimes go to four. Blades are so inexpensive, though, that I don't push it.

The blades I like are Bic, Derby and the Israelis. The razors I use are a Fatboy, R41, 89L, and a Futur. I rotate through the razors every couple of weeks.

I use Derbys and do 3 shaves per blade. From experience I found that I can get 3 good shaves per blade, with the 4th being rather mediocre. The blades are cheap enough so I don't force it. I'm using either a 20s Gillette Old or a 30s Gillette Tech, depending on the day.

Four or five great shaves from Iridiums or 7 O'Clock yellows, usually in my Futur or Bull Mastiff or 34 Aristocrat. Could do more, but there's no point...five max, just because, lol.

I shave four or five times with a blade before replacing it.
I'm currently using Gillette Platinum blades and Wilkinson Sword Classic blades.
My razors are the Merkur HD 34c and the HD "Barber Pole" 38c.

Gillette NEW with Bull Mastiff handle

Astra SP -> around 3-4 shave on average.
Other blades, around 3 shaves on average.

Coarse beard, 3 passes, always.

I have a fairly tough beard and moderate density. I can get about 4 to 5 days of shaving before retiring the blade due to performance. However, I decided that due to the relatively inexpensiveness of DE shaving that I would shave with a blade 3 times and discard.

Same here. Blades are so cheap (I paid 10 cents a piece for Red Israelis, and 2-3 cents a piece for Dorcos) that I shave 3 times and toss them.

I've heard Swedes give you lots of shaves, and of course Personna 74's do too, but I don't know of any other "super-long lasting" blades. Maybe if I used expensive blades like Feathers I'd try and make them last.

My bet blade so far is the Dorco in the blue wrapper. I get five to seven shaves with a medium beard, consistently. My son has gotten 7 days and counting on a Feather blade and his beard is very similar to mine. Can't wait to give the Feathers a try.

I have a fairly wiry beard. I can get 2-3 shaves from most blades with most razors. Duller blades give me 1-2 mediocre shaves. But I can get 4-5 shaves from a good blade when it's in my slant (Merkur NOS from Chessman). The slant slice seems to be easier on the edge than a straight cut is.

Derbys and Merkurs = 2 shaves max
Reds and Yellows = 3 shaves max

I've found that more shaves than above require extra passes or touchup and increase the chances that the blade will drag or cut. It's not worth risking a bad shave to save a few cents. I'd rather toss them one shave too early than one shave too late.
