How long can you store soaps, and blades?

I was thinking about stocking up on some soap, and blades to have it stored, and not have to worry about purchasing in the foreseeable future, and I was wondering how long these things last. I have never stocked up on anything like that, so I am absolutely clueless.

As always thanks ahead of time for all your help guys.

I certainly hope they will last for years, otherwise I don't know what I'll do in case of shavepocalypse. As djm2 mentioned, proper storage is the key.

I keep my blades in a lock & lock tupperware box with a large silica gel sachet, hard soaps will keep for years still sealed, may lose some scent, you can still get old spice soap on ebay that's 20 or 30 years old that still looks okay, won't have much scent left though.

I have used 20 year old Tom's of Maine bar shampoo. It had been kept in a cool dry location all the while. The key to building a long term stash is proper storage.

I'm currently shaving with a razor blade made sometime around 1970. By the end of the month I'll have 23 shaves on it.

I'd use a blade from any era if I had the chance.

I just used a puck of soap that hasn't seen the light of day for at least four years, the scent has mellowed but the lather I got from it was fine. I would think if you kept any soap dry and cool it could keep for quite sometime. As for blades I think the same would apply.

I lathered some of this yesterday, it made a great lather and a nice shave. Not much scent left though. I found this at an antique store a year ago, I'm sure it wasn't remotely properly stored before that. Just saying soaps can last a long time, even in an unsealed wooden bowl.
