I use a stove top perculator for making coffee.....the best way....IMO. Instead of sugar, I use sweet and low along with CoffeeMate powder creamer.

I go for cream and sugar, one each per 8oz of coffee. When ordering coffee away from home, I always ask them to top it off with some ice, to take the burn off the first sip.

Ahh, Tim Horton...the man was great at Hockey AND Donuts. Hero material for me. He probably had a walk-in fridge full of all cuts and varieties of bacon.

Black for me. Unless it's iced, then it's candy-coffee time...lotsa cream, lotsa sugar.

+1. It definitely makes the best coffee. You can smell it a mile away and it's hot as hell. But babysitting the pot is a pain and I don't use it much anymore.

I've got a 16 cup perk. As soon as the pot comes up to a perk.....I lower the heat, put on the timer for 7 minutes and let it perk away. After its finished and its steaming hot, into the Nissan Thermos stainless steel Carafe it goes to stay nice and hot.

If you like your coffee hot and full of flavor and aroma....Perk is the way to go if you have natural gas on the range.

I grind a little over 1/4 cup of beans, put it into a Melita drip filter, and add 12 oz. water to make ONE cup of coffee. I usually use espresso beans.

And on the way to work I'll usually stop and buy either a red eye or pink eye.

I voted for "I don't drink it" and it looks like I'm the sole vote for that option right now.

You'd think I would have acquired the taste for it in the Army, but I never did. I don't know why, but I've never been able to tolerate the taste of coffee at all, no matter how it's disguised; recently, even the smell of it turns me off. I guess it leaves me more money for tea and wine, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on much. My wife is also happy because she doesn't have to share hers.

I read something years ago that describes it for me:

"Hot as hell, black as pitch, and with an aroma that embraces you like a fine woman"

I used to drink coffee but stopped for whatever reason abot 2 years ago (was at 8 cups or more a day by then.). During those heydays I usually drank it with a bit of milk but no sugar.

My early morning kickstart these days is usually a cup of fantastic Black Tea from the TWG 1837 Grand Cru selection. Still with a shot of milk and no sugar.

I don't drink coffee often, but when I do it's one of two was; either a short espresso with a wee-bit of Sambuca or half a teaspoon of instant coffee in my Yerba Mate.

I make two cups in my french press. A little half and half and sugar on top of that. fifteen slow minutes of sipping and i am ready to face the world.
