Hot towel in hot weather

so what do you do now that the weather is warm. A nice steamy hot towel in the morning was great in the winter, but not to me in 75 degree weather.

I think my pre-shave prep is going to suffer

I use warm water instead of hot water during the summer. I'm too hot natured for hot water in the summer.

Here in hot, humid Florida it matters not whether it is summer or winter. To me there is nothing better than starting a shave with a hot towel followed by warm lather. :001_smile

lol YMMV I get great shaves from cold water. Here in Charlotte it's been 75 since mid April. If a hot towel is your thing then use it, then balance I with a cool menthol shave cream or soap!

This can be a serious problem. In my country temperatures rise up to 40 celsius!!

First of all I DO NOT use hot towel during the summer. I just splash some warm (not hot) water on my face with my hands.

Also I never let the tub water running as the hot steam adds more temperature to the room.

I've never used a hot towel. I just shower before shaving, and splash liberal amounts of water on my face just prior to lathering. It's worked pretty well so far. Of course, I'm open to the possibility that I'm missing out on some wonderful luxury. Perhaps I should give the towel a go some time.

Definitely hot and humid here as well (Houston). I also use a hot towel regardless of weather.

In my country it's so hot almost throughout the year that you just abhore anything hot.

The ambient heat keeps the pores wide open 24 hrs a day. Perfect for a shave anytime.

HOT TOWEL...HOT WATER....nothing needed here. Mother nature takes care of all that for us in the tropics.

How's 46 degrees celcius for an example !!!

thanks for the inputs.

I am one of hot nature so I can't stand using a hot towel prep when I wake up feeling warm already.

I think my DE shave is suffering though, my shaves seemed to last shorter before my "5 o'clock" shadows start to show.

Maybe I am not letting my pores open and the stubbles to hydrate and relax.

Hot towel is a must for me if I shave without taking a shower first. SWMBO insists on my showering before going to bed. When shaving after a shower - hot towel may seem to be overkill, so I just wet my face for about 30 seconds with my hand using hot water from the tap and begin lathering.
