honing questions I couldn't find answers to

So I recently bought a kit form our very own Gamma which had 2 straights and a O So Easy hone. I was just wondering if this hone will restore an edge. I have a Geneva Pyramid that I've used a few times now and I can tell its not as sharp as it was when I started. What exactly do I need to do to restore the edge to what it was when I revived it. Also I have a GD 66 that once had an edge on it a while ago and was wondering if just this hone could restore an edge. The GD I'm not worried about messing up and having to get it sent out but the Geneva I would be sad if I messed up the beautiful edge that it came with. As well is this the only Hone that I would need if I only buy shave ready razors or will I need something like a Norton combo or another stone that I have read about ? Or the films ?

The barbers hones were meant for exactly that - touching up a razor in between 'full honings' They aren't as fine as what most people around here use so you may not get an ultra refined edge, but plenty of people shaved off those edges for years. Here's a video on touching up your razor:

I use lather with mine to try and eek out as much performance as I can
