Honing Meetup?

I was wondering if anyone's ever done a honing meetup? I would be super interested in meeting up with people, especially those who have experience with honing. It would allow people to share knowledge, get experience, etc...

I am not sure what the interest would be, but I know I'd be willing to travel quite a few hours to meet up with people much more experienced than myself. Being in Michigan, I could travel 3-4 hours and be in a number of different places/states.

Any interest - especially from our experienced honers?

A couple of guys and I met a few weeks back and it was awesome. Just seeing other gear and holding different kinds of razors was great. We didn't get a whole lot of honing done but we're meeting again this weekend.. It's a great way to get perspective on a niche hobby.

Totally looking forward to this weekend Dan. I'm also looking forward to seeing those Japanese razors again!

The last time I really got a lot out of Dan's honing tips and I loved seeing the wide variety of razors CarIos owns (my resident enabler).

I would highly encourage the rest of you to try to organize something like this in your area. Carlos was the prime mover for our little group and we are looking forward to having more join us as we go!

Well, I know there are some other members on the board from Tulsa. Not sure if anyone is into honing or not.

I'll be working out of town most of November. Then December is a crazy time to start anything. But unless someone jumps in earlier I'm happy to meet folks in Tulsa in January. After all, I'm a total noob at honing, and I need all the help I can get.

I am hoping that a few guys within 4-5 hours of myself will eventually meet up. It sounds like it turns into a nice time when people get together. It would be neat to see what others have, cherish, hone with, etc...
