A vintage Gillette Tech or a brand new EJ DE89?

Depends on what's in your den so far.
Not knowing that, I'd say Tech then the EJ.

The correct answer is "Get both".
Neither is expensive. I think everyone should try a Tech. At the same time the DE89 is widely praised. I'm a die-hard vintage razor junkie but to satisfy my personal curiousity the DE89 will be my next purchase.
Yep. I dont see the question, the answer is definetly not which one, but how many. We are talking about RAD here!
Both is always safer. If you don't like one, hold onto it for awhile and try it again.
+1 here. Have you checked out the Merkur 1904? Its become my #1 go to DE, and it won't break the bank.
Yeah, go for both...You cant go wrong that way.
Obviously, you meant should get one first, or both simultaneously.
I would get the EJ. It is a veritable museum piece of a razor.
IMHO you should get both, then get a Merkur Slant-bar to compare them with. You can never be too sure.

The Tech is great, it's my daily razor. Haven't tried the EJ yet, but planning to get one.

Just pulled the trigger on a Tech. So we'll se how that goes...
Yes that one's been on my radar before (thanks for putting it back on btw) . Thought it had a rather short handle though. Please advise.
