Just out of curiosity and whatever works for you of course. Please correct me if I am wrong but aren’t proraso and nivea both post shave balm to mositurize skin?

Is there any benefit of using two different balm after shaving?

Probably not. I started out using only the Proraso. Based on what I learned here at B&B, I added the Thayers as a 1st step. Then I added the Nivea as a 2nd step, leaving the Proraso as a final step. TBH, I’m sure you are right that the Proraso is absolutely unnecessary after Thayers/Nivea.

I’m just a sucker for the “romance” of Italian and/or artisan products. Before I saw your question, I rethought my method yesterday because I noticed that my face felt great after the Thayers alone and still great after the Nivea. Then when I applied the Proraso, I got a bit of a sting.

I’ll stick to just Thayers/Nivea until Fathers’ Day when I will order some A/S balms (Aion and Moon) that I hope will work well.

Rating: 9.0/10 A comfortable efficient 2 pass BBS shave with no touch ups, five weepers, no cuts or irritation. Weepers my fault, I tried to do a 2 pass shave and over buffed some areas without reapplying some cream or water. Still a good shave.

Delightful BBS shave. This soap is made by a local (MA) barber. It's easy to lather, cushiony and slick. The razor glides as if on wings.

@WhiskerLess: As promised, I skipped the Proraso A/S and my skin feels great.

Been on a vintage run of shaves lately ….Vintage April thread. Went back to the Ti Henson+++ yesterday. This morning has revealed just how good yesterday’s shave was. Hardly anything to mow down today.
If I didn’t enjoy the ritual so much, I could happily skip it today.
The Henson is a fantastic razor.
