henkels no 15 razor question

hi guys--
got a henkels extra hollow ground razor from a barber that cut my hair as a kid. this was used in the shop for years. the question--it's extra hollow ground, the only razor i have like it. it seems that when i hone and strop my other razors they wind up much sharper than this razor. it shaves fine--just cant get that killer edge i get on my dovo's. i noticed the spine is worn down considerably--could it just simply be worn out from use and years of honing etc? it is a fine twinworks razor, just wondered if anyone might have a trick to bring it back to life.
thanks!

would the spine being worn down a bit cause the angle to be too sharp? or should i maybe put a piece of tape on it and hone to try to acheive a different angle? sorry for stupid questions, i am not really good at the game yet.
thanks!

Try doing 10 laps on the 4k, then 15 laps on the 8k, and then finish it on whatever you use.

Exactly how much spine is gone? Pictures help.

hi--
thanks for responding. i am not sure what grit the hones i have are. i have the spyderco medium, fine, and ultra fine. i talked to spyderco once and they didnt seem to know for sure either. from what i have gathered on the net, the fine is supposed to be around 4k, and i have heard everything from 8 to 12k for the ultra fine. so i really dont know. i normally do the medium lightly--it seems to be pretty aggressive, then i go to the fine for 8 to 10 passes, then ultra fine to finish. this works great on my other stuff, but for some reason, this razor just does'nt take the edge. getting kinda frustrated--thanks for your time and help.

The razor probably just doesn't like those hones. It happens. IMHO, the UF is the only truly universal one. The fine works good for almost all razors, but the medium can get iffy.
