Henckels question

Just curious if the "Zwillingswerk" stamp on the tang is more desirable and/or make it a better razor than the "Twin Works"?

They are both the same. One is in german one is in english. Zwilling means twin.

did a lot of reading about the brand last night. Lol

Interesting this came up- I just got a Henckels Twin Works in the mail as a sight unseen from Whipped Dog. Does anyone have any additional info on them?

I got a Henckels from Whippeddog too a few months ago. Mine has a number 16 on it followed by J.A. Henckels Solingen Germany. After researching the company I found out they are still in business making knives and that they are very highly regarded so I bought a set of kitchen knives too.

Thanks. I'm still starting to collect razor and I saw your recent posts on the Hobbyist forum. I almost jumped on one of your Heljestrands but managed to score an restorable frameback off eBay. I can't even imagine your collection of razors.

Hmm, this makes me want to REALLY clean up the one I have now. Here it is before I polished it with some Mothers:

That black stuff I managed to get a lot of off. I could keep going if I wanted to.

EDIT: Mine has the number "85" on it, whatever that stands for...

I thought that perhaps that "Zwillingswerk" might be more desirable for one reason or the other.
What part of TN, Chreees? I was born & raised in Nashville...spent about a year in Knoxville. Kinda miss it. :)

Right now I live in Nashville, but I'm from the Memphis area, a little town called Brownsville, right between Memphis and Jackson along I-40. I'm moving back to that area soon to be able to be closer to family and friends and hope to find work.

EDIT: I moved up here to attend MTSU, and now that I'm graduated and can't find work in Nashville, I feel there's no need to stick around. :(

As for my Henckels, I gave her a light honing today. I hope that sharpens it up a bit more, as I don't think it's quite as shave-ready as it should be... (My unhoned Dovo feels sharper)
