Hi all,
I have been enjoying finding new ideas and learning from all the threads on this restoration section. I am now in need of advice. My father just showed me a straight razor he used to own, but that has a blade problem. He said he never shaved with it due to the imperfection. I have included pictures, but it appears as if the toe area of the blade has...peeled? or as if it was bad metal plating that had started to wear off (obviously not the case). It still makes me question the integrity of the metal, at this point. My thought (due to reading about this process on the restoration forum) is that I may have to grind the toe down slowly with a stone. Is this the only way to fix the toe? Is this the correct way to clear the problem? Just wanted to make sure this is recommended and also, figure out what would cause such a weird fault. comments? concern? advice?
