Help with Red Wing Gentleman Traveler boot

Ok, I have a pair in size 8.5 and a pair in size 9, I don't know which to go with! My left foot is a bit bigger than my right foot. With the 8.5 it's def a more snug fit, hurts a bit on my ankle bone, which I think is normal and goes away with break in. I can go with a size 9 but I think they may be too big, also, i know feet get larger longer u walk in them and as you get older, so maybe the 8.5 is not a good choice for long run? Need some input please

Go with the pair the fits both feet comfortably. It is normal to have one foot a bit larger than the other.

I don't know what the result will be, but you may want to go to a Red Wing store, and see if they'll custom order one boot in 8.5 and one in 9. Some of the best customer service I have received has been in a Red Wing store.

I don't think it needs to come to that, I'm still undecided, is the 9 better in the longrun? Since foot sizes tend to go up as you age if I'm not mistaken

If you can't get a custom fit (ie one boot in 8.5 and one in 9) go for a pair of 9s. Then if you feel the need, you can wear a thicker sock on your smaller foot. Try to avoid ever wearing shoes or boots that are too small.

+1

I have a pair of GTs and I can tell you that the leather is very tough and doesn't seem to stretch a whole lot just by wearing them. I wouldn't could on the snugness around the ankle going away. I would go for the larger pair or see about custom ordering a pair in two different sizes.

Another thing you might want to consider is a different pair of boots altogether. The GTs might just not work for your feet.
