Help with Merkur Progress settings

I recently purchased a Merkur Progress from a B&B member. First thing, I ran it through my usual cleanup, and dipped the head threads in baby oil to lubricate the movement. Looks and adjusts smoothly. Here's my question-

When I tighten the knob all the way, it stops on the three mark. I can then loosen it about 2 times through the numbers before the head is released. Should the adjustment stop on 3 when fully tightened? Shouldn't it stop on 1 so you know you're starting on the mildest setting? Should I start my adjustments on the tightest level 1 as my mildest setting? I always go for BBS, and I like aggressive razors. Also, I'm most definitely sending this to Eric for the Mergress modification, but I guess I just want to know if this is a flaw, and if it will affect Mergress-ability.

Help and perspective would be greatly appreciated.

It should stop around the 1. If it's on the 3 the head might be on 180 degrees off from where it should be. Has it always done this? The number rings do slip once in awhile causing the settings to wander.

Do you have the triangle and line on the same side when you put it together?

Sounds like you have the cap reversed.

You also need a blade in it for the numbers to zero out properly.
