Help with a Gem Micromatic

Scooped this up. All I know is it’s a Gem Micromatic. Assuming bullet tip. Have no idea if flying wing? I have a 100 pack of Gem/Personna blades coming from Bullgoose.

Anybody able to guesstimate the finish/age/model?

Bullet Tip is a nickname made up by someone on the internet, some of the old ads referred to it as the Flying Wing . Yours has the Guiding Eye which I believe was only made in 1947 before ASR dropped that silly little gimmick.

ASR had some great ads. Forgot to mention that model of the Micromatic came in gold and chrome finishes.

What's odd about it is most people ignore the instructions to keep the razor head flat against the face, finding it works better with just a small amount of angle added.

Do you apply much pressure? How close a shave do you get this way? Maybe I'm missing something...

Cap against the skin requires varying degrees of pressure with less generally being better than more. Results about the same closeness as slightly tilting the cap and hovering the razor, but without as much thought required.
