Help me identify razors please...

got these three off of ebay, just came in today and have so far only put some scrubbing bubbles on them along with a short soak in the ultrasonic cleaner.

i know i have a:
Aristocrat
Superspeed Flare tip
Superspeed

however, i dont the years on these even though i have been studying the Wiki. I believe the Aristocrat is from the '40s, the SS from the '40s and the flaretip the '50s? please help! can we narrow down the exact year?

I'm not much help with the Aristocrats, but there should be a date code at least on the under side of the flare tip Super Speed. It'll have one number and one letter. The letter lets you know the year. And the number indicates the quarter of that year it was made. You can get the dates from the wiki ... http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/index.php/US_Gillette_Dating_Information

As to the 40s SuperSpeed ... it's a bit hard to tell on the photos. There may be a date code or there may not. It depends on when yours was made. Does it have a notch in the center bar? Check out this link for more information ... http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?p=732565#post732565 . That should help.

D'oh, completely forgot to check the date code...the flare tip has a code of F4 placing it in 1960

The other SS has a code of Y2 so it is 1953.

nice! thanks!

No, 1946 and 1947 models are the same (hence saying "1946/47") with the no-notch center bar. The notched center bars (like the ones on your other two razors) arrived in 1948.

awesome, thanks for the help! its nice to be on this forum where everyone is always so helpful (and patient :001_smile)

Nice razors. I hope the set I am bidding on look that good.

yes, i was very happy. the two SS have perfect finishes with no scratches, and the Aristocrat has a small scratch on the TTO handle, and some lacquer missing on the top....overall very happy with the purchase!

good luck!
