Help me identify my new brush

I just got this brush from a family member bought a local shop with no identification whatsoever.

It's very soft and floppy. I've been having difficulty building a proper lather with it and my Col. Conk's soap or VDH soap. With my Proraso cream, I have zero trouble but lathering it thickly on my face is an issue. It's nearly always a thin layer unless I paint it on. I feel like the core of the brush doesn't hold very much lather but the outside of it does. Am I doing something wrong?

It's a Colonel Conk something or another. I had one briefly when I first started DE shaving, it was way too floppy. The handle is ridiculously heavy, right?

I don't know much about knot size but I'm looking for a best badger and on the smaller size. The Col Conk brush is a nice size but its too floppy.

I want a lightweight, slightly smaller brush that excels with applying lather to a large surface area. That's the #1 quality I need. The ability to lather in a bowl and apply thick layers of cream to my entire head.
