Help me identify my "new" british Aristocrat

I just received a fine looking Gillette Aristocrat which I bought on the swedish version of ebay called tradera. It is stamped BRIT PAT NO. 400.621 on the head and BRIT. PAT. NO. 430030 on the handle. No date stamps or anything.

I need your help to identify which aristocrat this is and how old it is?

Here is the beauty:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's an Aristocrat No 15. Rhodium. Late part of the 1930s

Edit. Confirmed

Not aggressive like it seems but very effective, highly smooth, and nicely balanced. This razor epitomizes Gillette's prowess during the first half of the 20th century.

Ha. It's definitely not healthy. Been at it for about 4-5 months. I've got 60+ unique Gillette DEs, a multitude of SEs, some straights and some Rolls.

That's why I had to put up some duplicates on B/S/T!

That definitely looks like a 15 to me. I shaved with mine this morning and like Krona Kruiser, it is my "holy grail" razor; the crown jewel of my collection. It took me quite a while to find one and it cost more than any two of my others. For me, it was worth the cost. I find them to be the best looking razor I've seen. As an added bonus, they give a great shave. I find the 15 to be the smoothest and closest shaving of any open combed razor I've tried. Congratulations on finding it and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine.

Mike

I'll admit, I have two.

One is silver plated and practically mint. I've not used it.

My other one I use is rhodium plated and is everything I ever hoped it would be.

Had I not bought the minty set for my collection I may have not bought the second to use.

I'd always presumed that it was similar to a Senator or Sheridan.

It's different.
Heftier handle, more robust blade base, lovelier handle, and all around self indulgent to use.

Have tried it twice and I can only say WOW! Great razor!!! I've tried it with both Derbys and Feather and the Feathers are outstanding in this razor! In my r41 i prefer the Derbys but in the Aristocrat I find them a bit...lame?

Yes, a #15 indeed.

The #15 was entirely Rhodium Plated, unlike the later English Aristocrats which had/have Rhodium plated Handle and Nickel head.

They are all lovely

I do believe you are wrong Dave. The #16 and the #21 were rhodium as well (all THE way). (The #66- iand likely the #58 s a were not).
Hey Stilton! by the way is the plating of your #15 rhodium or silver..?

Hmm, don't know about the plating, how do I find out? The price of 17.5 SEK as the paper shows is today about 500 SEK (76 USD), so I don't think that it is silver plating...
