Help me ID a razor

I don't know much about these, but is it a bostonian?

The head is a New DeLuxe. I owned a similar one with the larger center hole and ring on the bottom. Mine had the slightly different shoulderless husky handle.

Thats what I thought. Is that the correct top plate? Usually I remember seeing ones that had a more solid bar in the center and not those two little horizontal spots.
Mine had the solid bar cap, like the ones shown below. The cap on your razor looks like it may be a Tech cap.
But, I've also seen British New heads with twin pin caps. The DeLuxe is a great shaver.

I find the New Deluxe head to be extremely aggressive but in a good way...

I'm just concerned about this one because i think the top part may be wrong.... I have been looking for a New Deluxe for a while.. (or rather a new deluxe 3 piece). I haven't been able to find one.

I agree the cap looks odd. Unless it is Canadian or UK? What are the guard plate markings?
Curses! You just bought this on the Bay. I know because I tried and failed to buy it. I don't know what it is it, but I really wanted to ace you out of it so that I could investigate it for myself. Congrats on the find and on beating me to the punch. I have never seen a cap like that, so I hope someone can ID it for you.

I didn't actually buy it. I decided not to. I really want a New Deluxe.. but based on how the threads line up on the bottom and the head I am pretty sure it is mismatched and thus don't think it would actually shave that well. I'm still looking for a correct New Deluxe.
My motto: buy now, ask questions later.
BTW, I see you are looking for both SC and LC NEW Deluxe. Is there a LC NEW Deluxe?

It's not really a LC... there were two versions of the base plate made... one with a SLIGHTLY longer comb. See the wiki here http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Category:Gillette_NEW_Deluxe_Razors ... look at the last picture on the right for a comparison.
As for the buy now ask later... I would usually agree, but I just purchased a Cobra much to the SWMBOs displeasure... the agreement I wound up making was that the only razor I was allowed to buy for a while was a New Deluxe 3 Piece if I found one... didn't want to waste it on a mismatch...
I've been there. Hell, I'm there now. But I'm grateful for the information on the De Luxe base plates.

I never even noticed the cap, that is odd but it could still be original. Gillette was known to mix and match left over parts and pieces.

lol i got it. i havent recieved it yet though but even if the head is wrong i have enough NEW's sitting around that i can trade out the head. now im curious, i want to see how it looks when i get it
